Howard
Drury began his studies at Kew Gardens and the Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh
and obtained his diploma in Horticulture with Honours. He became involved in
the making of Central Televisions Gardening Time programme with Bob Price
and Cyril Fletcher. Howard was also privileged to work alongside the legendary
greats Arther Billit and Percy Thrower before teaming up with Geoff Amos.
Howard has presented the Garden Time programme for 11 years and has also written
his first book on Alpines. Howard is now a free-lance writer, broadcaster and
consultant. He gives a wide range of horticultural talks illustrated with two
computer linked projectors onto a 9ft screen with full stereo sound. Talks include
"Growing Alpines", "Plants in Containers", "Gardens
of the West Midlands" and "Colour in the Garden".
Howard
has special contacts allowing him behind the scenes to visit places normal gardening
holidays are not able to include in their itinery.
