GLORIOUS COLOUR WITH KAFFE FASSETT
Course No.004. Textiles.

Kaffe Fassett is famous for his inventive and brilliantly coloured knitwear and tapestries. More recently he has applied the same principles to his gardening, and was commissioned to design a show garden at the Chelsea Flower Show using mosaics as a central theme. Kaffe began his career as a painter and has since turned his hand to needlepoint and quilting. He has written nine books on design and creates wallpapers for the Designers Guild, London. Kaffe Fasset's own seminars and workshops are held once a year at the Lotus Studio and information can be found in the Celebrity Courses section on this site.

Two day knitting workshops - Tutor Brandon Mably from the Kaffe Fassett Studio.
Course title-Concentrate on Colour
The workshop title is exactly what the class is about. Participants need only to be able to do stocking stitch so both beginners and experienced knitters are welcome. Mixed coloured yarns are provided as is source material. The first part of the class is spent knitting an abstraction of colours and observing colour relationships. The second part of the class involves moving onto pattern, translation of the colours from initial swatches and the source material. Brandon Mabley has taught workshops all over the world for the last seven years, and started teaching alongside Kaffe Fassett for the first four years, running the studio as well as assisting him with designs and projects overseas, and works with Rowan Yarns producing designs for their knitting magazine.
